Costume Supervisor Job Specification:
‘Chrimblesense’ Tour 2025
Award-winning children’s theatre charity, Embracing Arts, are looking for a Costume Supervisor for their annual Christmas for Kids tour to SEND schools and children’s hospices.
Costume Supervisor Overview
The Costume Supervisor will be required to fit and costume six performers, including two understudies with their own as well as cover costumes. This is the production’s third year, and costumes will need to be sourced from existing pieces as well as purchasing and fitting new/updated items. Some new pieces will need embellishment as per existing designs. The right candidate will schedule their own working time whilst working to specific deadlines set by the Production Manager and Director.
Required Skills and Qualifications

Previous experience in a costume department role or as part of an associated training course

Practical sewing and artistic skills
-
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to meet deadlines
-
Strong communication and organisational skills
-
Must be motivated to work solo with regular updates and check-ins with the Production Manager

A commitment to inclusivity and enhancing cultural experiences for diverse audiences
Working Hours
Expected 6 x 8hr days. Flexible working except for fitting calls as listed below:

Tuesday 4th November: fitting with all actors, using existing costumes and plans for additions/alterations - 8hr day

Wednesday 12th November: follow up fittings - 8hr day

Wednesday 19th November: final delivery of all costumes - 8hr day

All shopping and alterations can take place on the applicant’s own schedule, working to the deadlines above. Shopping & alterations - 3 days

12th & 19th November at the Churchill Theatre, Bromley
Fee
£1200 all-inclusive fee.
Travel for fitting dates will be reimbursed.
