Marketing Manager Job Specification:


 

Role Overview:

Embracing Arts is seeking a dynamic Marketing and Communications Manager to drive the day to day implementation of our marketing and communications strategies, shaping our campaigns and content.

This role combines strategy with hands-on delivery, leading on all marketing activity across EA and its services. You’ll work closely with our senior team and partners to amplify our impact, grow our audience, and tell powerful stories that reflect our work in the sensory theatre community.

You will take ownership of all key channels including social media, advertising, brand, audience growth, content, PR, website management and Google Ads.

This role suits someone who enjoys variety, takes initiative, and is comfortable owning both the direction and delivery of marketing. It’s an opportunity to shape how an organisation shows up and grows, whilst working flexibly as part of a wider portfolio.

Working Arrangement & Fees 

  • Freelance role

  • Predominantly remote working with meetings held online. Occasional in-person meetings or training.

  • Working closely with EA senior leadership team

  • Lead responsibility for marketing, with occasional ad hoc/project support where needed

  • Expected commitment: one day per week

  • Flexibility in how time is structured, with agreement on priorities and key deliverables

  • Immediate start

 

Pay Structure

  • £200 per day 

  • Equivalent to £10,400 per year

This role is designed to sit alongside other client work, but requires regular input and ownership to maintain momentum across all marketing activity.

Key Responsibilities you will undertake:

Strategy and Planning 

  • Lead marketing across EA and all its projects

  • Develop and deliver an annual marketing strategy

  • Plan activity across the year, including:

    • Seasonal campaigns (e.g. generating trade income, fundraising events)​

    • Key calendar moments (celebration and awareness days)

    • Campaigns for Christmas for Kids (C4K) projects

  • Define how different platforms are utilised, including tone and content approach

  • Keep marketing activity and branding aligned, consistent, and moving forward

Campaigns, Content & Channels

  • Plan and deliver marketing campaigns across digital and offline channels

  • Manage social media across EA, C4K Digital, and C4K Live

    • Create, schedule, and publish content​

    • Handle day-to-day engagement (comments, messages, reactive posts)

  • Run paid advertising campaigns (seasonal and regular)

  • Manage Google Ads, particularly for EA Trade

  • Produce and send a quarterly Mailchimp newsletter

  • Build and grow audiences through social media, print, and partnerships

  • Management & maintenance of the EA website (Wix)

Brand, Design & Communications

  • Create or manage marketing materials, including:

    • Social media content​

    • Advertising (online and offline)

    • General marketing assets

  • Maintain a consistent and recognisable brand across all outputs

  • Design brochure-style documents, including:

    • Service and activity brochures​

    • Evaluation and Impact reports (making source material clearer and more engaging while retaining detail)

Building Partnerships & PR

  • Build relationships with partners, media, and relevant organisations

  • Identify opportunities for PR and collaboration, e.g. interviews with EA’s patron and partner organisations

  • Expand EA’s reach and visibility through external relationships

Tracking & Improving our Community Outreach

  • Monitor performance across campaigns and channels

  • Use insights to improve content, campaigns, and targeting

  • Maintain a clear view of what’s working and suggest where to adjust

We are looking for the following required skills & experience:

Core Skills

  • Experience managing marketing across multiple channels

  • Ability to develop strategy and deliver it independently

  • Strong social media and digital marketing experience

  • Confident managing Google Ads

  • Strong copywriting and communication skills, with a sensitivity for branding and existing tone

  • Ability to create and utilise original marketing materials

 

Technical Skills

  • Experience with Google Ads (search, display, remarketing)

  • Proficiency in design tools (e.g. Canva)

  • Experience producing professional publications (reports, brochures, marketing materials)

  • Experience with email marketing platforms (e.g. Mailchimp)

  • Familiarity with analytics tools (e.g. Google Analytics)

  • Understanding of SEO

Desirable (Not Essential)

  • Experience in the charity or community sector

  • PR or partnership experience

  • Video or content editing skills
