Putting it Together - Rehearsals Week 2

What a jam packed, fun filled week! We started the week with our first full runs of the show which was challenging but so wonderful - to see the whole show put together and the different character traits and special moments each cast was starting to bring to their run. On Tuesday, we had rehearsal with the very talented Lisa Austin who taught us a rocking dance which was fabulous fun, and Matthew was crowned Dance Captain. The challenge was to keep the puppets singing while remembering the dance moves! We also saw our musical director Sue for the last time to touch up on those gorgeous harmonies before she headed off to do panto.

On Wednesday we had our individual cast rehearsals with director Claire to iron out any kinks and to get a real feel for our version of the show. It was so exciting to feel the show really coming to life and all the hard work we had done start to pay off. Thursday saw the Understudy Run which was an exciting exercise in multi-tasking and running round the stage with multiple puppets and props - we certainly made it work but no one is allowed to get sick!!!

We then finished the week with our dress rehearsals to some special guests - friends of the cast who ended up being our "Snowmen" and beautiful little ones getting involved including Claire's 12-month old bubba Charlie who remained engaged and entertained for the whole 45 mins! We did it!! The show is definitely a success!

We are so incredibly excited to be hitting the road with this marvellous show and feel confident and prepared to bring laughter and Christmas cheer to 53 Hospices and schools around the country. Thank you Claire, Sue, Katie, Gareth and Lisa for entrusting us with this beautiful show and giving us all the tools to bring it to life. I feel like a very lucky Elf!
