Team Harry in wonderful Wales! - By Sophie Delin

Writer: Christmas for KidsChristmas for Kids

Hello everyone! I’m back once again at Christmas for Kids for my third year but this time I got to change my Elf hat for a very fetching Nutcracker hat.

This year I am in Team Harry. I have had the pleasure of touring 'up North' each year and I have now created a really lovely bond with the hospices, staff and children. After a beautiful day off in the Lake District, we got to go to the lovely Derian's House in Chorley: We had a great show and the staff got so involved - it wasn’t just the Nutcracker getting pied in the face in that show!

The next day we were in Wales to return to the amazing Tŷ Gobaith, a beautiful hospice with the most amazing view (see below). Our audience was small but mighty, and really got us into the Christmas mood. The same day, we went to Hope House (their sister hospice) in which I have had the pleasure of performing for three years running. It is always a great show, as the staff and parents really get stuck in with the children. On the Monday of our second week, I got to return to Liverpool to do a show for Claire House. It was a very special show as we performed to some amazing children and families who needed a little distraction. We got to create some lovely memories for the families and the other children really got involved. Next we went to Zoe’s Place, Liverpool, where the staff created such a lovely atmosphere and really got everyone in the Christmas spirit, especially as our audiences were very young.

After a few days off, Team Harry were on road again to EACH (East Anglia Children's Hospice) hospices which are in Cambridge, Ipswich and Quidenham. We had a fantastic time at each hospice! C4K is a festive favourite for them and the children really brought lots of energy and laughter. In EACH Ipswich, we were even filmed by Children in Need (who helped to fund our tour) to illustrate the work we have been doing - so look out for their brilliant video on social media!

Thanks again to my wonderful teammates on Team Harry and to Christmas For Kids, for once again making a beautiful show to take to these incredible hospices, and to the children and staff within them.
